Biography:

Emine Serdaroğlu began her piano education with Prof. Ersin Onay and continued her studies with Fuat Türkay and Prof. Cana Gürmen. She received her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance with high honors from Illinois Wesleyan University (USA), where she studied under Prof. Dr. Mark Hansen. She completed her Master of Music degree in Piano Pedagogy and Literature at the University of Texas at Austin under the guidance of Prof. Dr. William Race. Throughout her artistic development, she participated in masterclasses with internationally acclaimed pianists such as Lala Margulis, Igor Kipnis, Rita Sloan, Ratko Delorko, and Andrey Diev. She earned her PhD in Musicology from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in Istanbul, Türkiye, and was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 2021.

She has given solo recitals in the United States, Germany, Sweden, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as well as various cities in Türkiye. In the field of chamber music, she has collaborated with several distinguished musicians including violinists Emilio Percan, Domenico Maisiello, Cihat Aşkın, Bahar Biricik, and Nilgün Yüksel; clarinetist Andrija Mincic; bassoonist Tadija Mincic; flutist Ayla Uludere; kemenche player Hatice Doğan Sevinç; baritone Kevork Tavityan; and mezzo-soprano Ezgi Saydam.

Since 1998, she has been performing with cellist Assoc. Prof. Dilbağ Tokay as CelloPianoDuo, giving concerts and participating in festivals across Turkey, in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Adana, Eskişehir, Antakya, Gaziantep, Kars, Afyon, Düzce, Adıyaman, Ayvalık, Balıkesir, Erzurum, Çanakkale, and Bodrum; as well as internationally in Sweden, Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Bulgaria, Serbia, Belgium, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Emine Serdaroğlu proudly represented Türkiye internationally through invitations from the Turkish Embassies in Bucharest and Tbilisi and the Turkish Consulates General in Mumbai, Cologne, and São Paulo, where she has given concerts and conducted masterclasses.

Among the albums recorded as part of CelloPianoDuo, Turkish Music for Cello and Piano, released by NAXOS, received critical acclaim and was awarded “Recording of the Year” at the 2016 Donizetti Classical Music Awards. Her albums Works for Cello and Piano (2023) and Dreamlike (2024), both released by Pür Records, are also available on all major digital platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music.

Her performances have been broadcast on national and international radio and television, including TRT2, and she has frequently appeared as a guest artist on various cultural programs. In addition to her performance career, she pursues research in the fields of Turkish composers, piano pedagogy and, music education. She continues to present at academic conferences and to contribute scholarly publications. Since 1997, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emine Serdaroğlu has been serving as a full-time faculty member in the Fine Arts Department at Boğaziçi University.
